Some dogs don’t ask for much — just a warm bed, a gentle hand and someone to love.
Meet Mashie, a beautiful senior Dachshund of approximately 12 years old who is looking for a loving new home in Gauteng.
Mashie is a calm, affectionate and gentle little gentleman weighing only around 6 kg. He loves people, relates beautifully to visitors and children, and his family describes him simply as sweet, social and lovable.
His family will be moving at the end of October, and sadly Mashie cannot accompany them to their new home. They would love to know that their special old boy will be safe, cherished and loved for the rest of his senior years.

🦷 A LITTLE ABOUT MASHIE’S SENIOR NEEDS
Mashie is an older boy, but he is in very good health and has a beautiful glossy coat.
He only has a few teeth remaining, so he eats soft food. This is simply something his future family will need to continue for him.
Mashie can also become nervous during thunderstorms. During storms he needs some reassurance and comforting from his humans.
For the right person, these little senior needs are a small price to pay for the enormous amount of affection this gentle boy has to give.
❤️ WHAT KIND OF HOME WOULD SUIT MASHIE?
Mashie deserves a home where his senior years can be peaceful, comfortable and filled with love.
A family looking for a calm and affectionate companion could find something very special in Mashie.
Because he has not had much opportunity to socialise with other dogs, any introduction to an existing dog should be handled carefully and calmly to make sure everyone is comfortable.
Most importantly, Mashie needs someone who understands that senior dogs still have so much love to give.
His bed, blankets and bowl will accompany him to his new home, giving him familiar belongings to help him settle.
🏡 HOME-TO-HOME ADOPTION
Mashie is not in a shelter or kennel.
Little Doggy Rescue works on a home-to-home adoption basis. Mashie remains with his current family in Johannesburg while we search for the right adopter.
This allows him to stay in familiar surroundings until his new family is found.
No kennels. Ever.
