Zulu is a gorgeous 5-year-old male Piebald Dachshund who is the perfect definition of a loyal family companion. He is exceptionally sweet, social, and incredibly lovable. While he can be a tiny bit shy when first meeting someone new, he warms up beautifully the moment he is given a proper introduction. Once he is introduced to you, he will absolutely love you!
Because of his deep devotion to his pack, Zulu is also very protective of his family. It is important for a new owner to understand that if someone approaches him aggressively or moves too fast towards his humans, he will react protectively and will bite. He just needs a patient, mindful handler who understands dachshund traits and ensures new people introduce themselves properly.
Once he knows you, he is an absolute shadow! Zulu lives for cuddles and loves spending every moment with his people. In fact, he is so dedicated to his family that when you leave the house, he will vocalize his opinion about it (he loves to bark at birds and protest when you go, but he does NOT bite!).

- Children: Excellent. He loves the energy and gentleness of kids.
- Other Dogs: Conditional. Zulu’s behavior depends entirely on the other dog. If another dog is calm and friendly, he is great. However, he will defend himself if barked at or snapped at. He would do best as an only dog or with a very submissive, laid-back canine sibling.
- Cats: Good with cats! However, just like with dogs, he expects respect—if an animal tries to hurt him, he will stand his ground.
- House-Trained: Yes, 100%.
- Leash Trained: Yes, Zulu walks beautifully on a leash.
- Water Safety: He is not used to a pool
- Sleeping Habits: Zulu is a true luxury hound. He tried doggy beds, but they just won’t do—he expects to sleep at the foot of your bed (or right under the blankets) for 100% nighttime cuddles.
