Betty is a beautiful, pint-sized Miniature Dapple Dachshund, while Barney is a handsome English Bulldog with a wonderfully stubborn personality.
Despite their difference in size, these two are attached at the hip. They are a bonded pair who share their everyday lives together and need to be adopted together.
Betty and Barney need a new home for no reason other than their owner’s upcoming emigration overseas, as unfortunately they cannot accompany their family.
They are currently safely with their owner in Johannesburg and will remain there while Little Doggy Rescue searches for the right family.
Life With Betty & Barney
These two certainly know how to enjoy the good life!
Betty and Barney love spending much of their day sleeping, lounging and relaxing together. When they’re not snoozing, they enjoy spending time in the garden, playing with their toys, waiting hopefully for a treat and making sure their humans know when it is dinner time!
During the day, they love to snuggle together in a dog bed.
And when the weather turns chilly, don’t be surprised if Betty seems to disappear completely – this little Dachshund loves nothing more than burrowing herself into a cosy pile of blankets.
At night, both dogs sleep in their own crates and are crate-trained.

Betty and Barney are accustomed to walking on a leash, although they can pull and become excited while out and about.
They have limited experience with other dogs and can become easily excited when they encounter them.
In particular, they are uncomfortable when unfamiliar off-leash dogs run directly towards them.
Their compatibility with living with other dogs has not been established, so this will need to be carefully considered when finding their new home.
