Adopt Rusty – Male Cocker Spaniel Puppy (8 Months Old)
Rusty is an energetic, happy Cocker Spaniel puppy with a big personality and a love for life. At just 8 months old, he is still very much in his puppy phase — active, playful, affectionate, and eager to be part of a home where he is not left alone for long periods. Rusty thrives on interaction, enjoys outdoor play, and brings constant movement and joy to his environment.

Personality & Temperament
Rusty is lively, inquisitive, and full of enthusiasm. He bonds quickly with people and seeks attention and companionship. He enjoys being involved in daily activities and does best in a home that understands the needs of an active puppy.
Key traits:
- Very active, playful, and energetic
- Loves toys, especially balls and rope toys
- Enjoys running and playing in the garden
- Affectionate and attention-seeking
- Excitement barking during play (not excessive)
- Gets along well with other dogs
His compatibility with cats or young children is currently unknown.

Training & Daily Needs
Rusty is still learning and requires continued guidance and structure. He is fully toilet trained and does not lift his leg indoors, which is a strong positive for a young male dog.
- Still learning to walk calmly on leash
- Very excited about outings and exploring
- Needs a secure garden — he will run outside as soon as a door opens
- Requires someone at home most of the day
If left alone for extended periods, Rusty becomes distressed and may cry or chew as an outlet for stress. Ongoing training, mental stimulation, and companionship are essential.

- Enjoys car rides
- Social and playful with other dogs
- Puppy-level excitement and curiosity

Cocker Spaniel Personality
Cocker Spaniels are known in South Africa as affectionate, people-focused companion dogs with a naturally cheerful temperament. Whether referred to as English Cocker Spaniels, Working Cocker Spaniels, or Show Cocker Spaniels, this breed is highly social, intelligent, and eager to engage with their family. They thrive on interaction and do best in homes where they are included in daily life rather than left alone for long periods.
As an active spaniel breed, Cocker Spaniels are energetic, playful, and mentally alert, making them well-suited to homes that enjoy regular walks, playtime, and structured training. Their sensitivity and loyalty mean they respond best to positive reinforcement and consistent routines, which helps them develop into confident, well-balanced companion dogs.
